About this course

Paisa Samjho is a foundation-level micro-course by the Institute of Financial Markets of Pakistan (IFMP), designed to make capital market concepts simple, practical, and accessible to everyone. With zero prior financial knowledge required, the course explains how Pakistan’s capital market works using everyday examples and plain Urdu. Learners are introduced to key institutions including SECP, PSX, CDC, and NCCPL, along with basic investment options such as shares, bonds, sukuk, and mutual funds. The course also covers risk and return, Shariah-compliant investment options, common stock market misconceptions, opening an investment account, and the fundamental rights of investors in Pakistan. Through 10 short lessons, embedded quizzes, practical activities, and a final investment-decision scenario, learners develop the basic knowledge needed to understand and participate more confidently in Pakistan’s regulated capital market. The primary course language is Urdu, with English subtitles. Successful learners who meet the course requirements receive the IFMP Digital Badge — Capital Market Aware.
